Studying harpsichord in Leipzig (Germany) - the city of Bach
After working at the conservatories in Cologne (accompaniment), Münster (harpsichord, performance practice) and Frankfurt a.M. (harpsichord/basso continuo), I will be teaching as a professor for harpsichord and other historical keyboard instruments at the the University of Music and Theatre »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« Leipzig from the winter semester 2024/2025 onwards.
The early music department in Leipzig is characterized by
- regular chamber music projects such as
- the annual „Alte-Musik-Fest“ (as part of the Leipzig Bach Festival)
- Concerts at the Musical Instrument Museum of the University of Leipzig
- Opera productions in collaboration with the singing classes
- a great teaching staff for all historical string, wind and keyboard instruments, as well as the subjects of historical singing, notation, historical improvisation, historical gestures, baroque dance and much more →
- location in the heart of Leipzig (200 meters from St. Thomas Church) for a good cooperation with other institutions in the musical city of Leipzig (Bach Archive, Opera, Musical Instrument Museum)
With my students I have the opportunity to work on these beautiful harpsichords, fortepianos, clavichords and other historical keyboard instruments from numerous instrument makers:
